force. heavy rain and major flooding. the coastal storm that could hammer our beaches before summer even kicks off. now, fox 29 news at 10:00. powerful storm doused midwest with major flooding just look at that. neighborhoods underwater. the same storm could slam the shore just as we flip the calendar looks like march is off to a stormy start. thanks for joining us at 10:00 i'm lucy noland. something wicked this way comes and the big concern is flooding. kathy it could make a big splash down the shore good absolutely, that's where we do anticipate lucy we will have the strongest winds and more problems down there as well. right now it's quiet everywhere from the city to the shore. storm system is moving from arkansas toward the midwest it's going to redevelop off the coast. as we look ahead with our future cast, you can see the rain moves in afternoon tomorrow. then it becomes heavy at times thursday night and then into

friday. after that, it's the wind and the potential for snow as the storm pulls away friday into saturday. so lot to talk about with this storm. first of all, we're talking about very heavy rain. big coastal concerns with damaging winds and also the possibility of some flooding concerns down the shore. our chris o'connell is down the shore right now in wildwood with more on what they are planning on seeing. we're talking about power outages as well. chris. >> reporter: that's right, kathy. you know typically the first weekend in march down here at the shore is really the weekend when businesses start getting ready for the upcoming summer season. well, not sophists fast. we are here on the wildwood you see from our boardwalk camera, it is absolutely empty but businesses and residents are preparing for an unwelcomed shore visitor. a monster coastal storm. >> boats are being lived out of the water. stores have started sand bagging

to protect against flooding. for folks down the shore, it's a dance they've become all too familiar with. >> when you hear of another coastal storm coming, what goes through your mind? >> flooding. a lot of water. a lot of winds, too. >> reporter: that's exactly the forecast over the next couple of days. winds up to 60 miles an hour. moderate to major coastal flooding including a full moon. >> on the worse case scenario water from the ocean meets the bay. >> reporter: lee bowers has seen it first hasn't. this is what it looked like in october just two blocks from where he lives in new york wildwood. where waves were pounding the sea wall. it got so bad the army corps of engineers have just started a major fix to prevent more storm damage. unfortunately, the 9 million-dollar construction on a new sea wall won't be finished for this storm. >> i just got to have a plan to get off the island and make sure that your car is somewhere safe. >> reporter: shore residents

get ready for another coastal storm, they're hoping any damage will be long gone by summertime. >> just feel for the people that have to live in lower areas, but it's a choice they've made. i mean they adapted and live with it but the best we can do. >> reporter: price for living at the shore. >> yeah, yeah. it is unfortunately. >> reporter: and a long with the coastal flooding, high winds are expected tomorrow as kathy was saying upwards of 60 miles an hour gusts. the rain should start sometime after maybe 6:00 o'clock tomorrow night. but emergency managers down here at the shore say whatever storm, whatever is on the way make sure you always have a plan. kathy. you know how important that is. >> absolutely, chris. this is definitely the season. it will become a powerful nor'easter but the big story is going to be the coastal flooding potential, possibly even damage to homes down the shore and the high wind watch that will go into effect. we'll talk more about those coastal impacts and here at home

as well coming up with the seven day, lucy, i'll see you back here in just a few minutes. >> so much more to talk about. thank you kathy n delaware county instead of depositing money in parking meters, someone was making unauthorized withdrawals as in hundreds of dollars worth and tonight police are saying it was an inside job. our dave schratwieser is live in millbourne were this all welder down. dave? >> reporter: lucy, inside job indeed. police say it was a parking enforcement officer who broke into borough hall and stole keys and a tool here in millbourne borough used that key to open parking meters, still steel money and line their own pocks. >> we immediately launched an investigation. >> reporter: surveillance cameras were rolling as police say 28-year-old parking enforcement officer tiffany blocks stone slowly made her way down marshall road emptying coins out of parking meters. there's only one problem. police say she was pocketing the money. >> she stole $500 approximately

$500 in change. that she changed the change into dollar bills at the giant supermarket. >> reporter: she's facing a long list of charges from burglary to theft and receiving stolen prompt. investigators say she broke into the borough manager's office in millbourne borough where she works and stole the keys and a tool to open parking meters. >> that's criminal many. >> reporter: superintendent chitwood says blockstop opened up over 20-meters and made off with cash and caused a thousand dollars in damages. it all fell apart when she was caught in the act on camera. mail bourne officials quickly identified her as a borough employee on the take. >> she voluntarily came in subsequently we took a confession from her where she admitted the thefts. good that baffles me big time. that really does balmy because why you work for the city but you're capable of doing such thing hike that. >> reporter: parking meter theft surprised folks on the street where the meters were

broken into. many saying she be trade the public trust. >> at the end of the day you had a good job and you ruined and ruined your background. you won't get a job nowhere. that's on you. >> reporter: in her confession she blamed it all on an opioid problem. she's been order to do a rehab facility for help this kid her life is destroyed. i mean, it's been destroyed. hopefully she gets the rehab she needs. >> reporter: now blockstop faces charges in upper darby and here in millbourne. he was released on $40,000. the key and tool used to steel money from those paragraphing theater he meters was dumped in trash kanta local supermarket. lucy. >> thank you dave. in radnor, it's like groundhog day over and over trucks slam into one particular pitch and it has happened again. here's the ming. the train bridge has bright yellow pain. big clear that say nothing taller than 10 feet 10-inch which is pass under it. yet another crash. the truck got stuck.

flipped over and neighbors could be verging on flipping out. our jeff cole reports from radnor. >> reporter: the rail bridge at north radnor chester in king of prussia roads in radnor township would appear to have bulls eye on it again today. in the grip of the rush hour a moving truck heading south hammers it. >> we see the car on -- excuse me, the truck slight on the side. the man was outside and the police were taking care of it. >> here we go again. >> yes. >> reporter: bridge at the radnor septa stop has a clearance 10 feet, 10-inches moving truck heading south truck the span and tipped on its side blocking traffic. there were no injuries. employees say the area is state controlled and the bridge has been a source of frustration for the township. the neighbor says in just a couple of years living here she's seen vehicle after vehicle clobber the ill fate the bridge. >> we've only been here two years. >> how many times do you think you've seen it? >> five to six.

something is bad. something is bad going to happen at any minute now. >> reporter: jose cordero is one pan who's not entirely fond of more armed police officers in the evesham township schools. a safety sure up after the massacre in parkland, florida. but he thinks his daughter may handle it differently. >> do you think you're a kid in the younger kid would be worried about seeing a guy with a gun or cop with gun at a school? >> i don't think so because she sees him every morning. officer dan is his name, right. >> there's multiple. >> so there's an officer there every morning. >> reporter: evesham police announced job search looking to higher armed guards at the elementary and middle school in the township. part of the class three special police officer initiative. high school students see officers on patrol in between their classes. >> oh i feel they should. i totally feel they should. >> reporter: we asked area parents like nancy hoy for opinions she says it's all about communication. >> are police officers with gun

in the school, would you be concerned about that. >> no, no, no. my husband and i would have an explanation with them about it. so i think it would be fine. >> reporter: how would you feel about that? >> i would feel good. >> reporter: you'd feel okay if you saw them. no worries? >> um-hmm. >> reporter: evesham police say they are looking for retired cops under 65 who live in new jersey for the job. they will also need the proper certifications and will take orders directly from the chief. many parents recognize the move as a sign of the dangerous times we are in. >> based on recent occurrences i think it's a great idea to get the presence more presence of the police involved and i'm actually happy about it because i have child in college and i have child in middle school and just very disheartening and scary. >> reporter: evesham police say that they will trade about eight people at a time. they say they're all right getting plenty of resumes. back to you. >> all right, thank you much, dave. bucks county listen to this one. these guys are after your money

to overlook are those cameras that you see like in an atm all around the building but police say those men do not care. they want your money and they'll do whatever to get it. they're brazen and up to no good. looking for your personal information access to your money. bensalem police say these two men are putting skimmers on atms in the area. >> that's the of it aorta. >> reporter: that's the size of it. i saw this couple pictures of the skimmers on b and bt on bristol road where they live. >> scary small. >> yes. >> because you wouldn't see it. >> reporter: charlie richmond says he's familiar with the exam and how criminals will put them anywhere. >> they've been putting them on gas pump also. >> reporter: police say the t on january nipth the bank was notified of unusual activity at the atm which started the investigation and led to the skimmer. >> i would never even notice. >> reporter: anna scope out

grocery shopping with her seven-year-old son eric says she tries to take precautions with her deb bid and credit cards. >> i'm trying not to use any atm's like whether at the gas stations or like wawa or whatever. >> reporter: investigators say these same suspects also put skimmers in other locations. brian says he keeps an eye out. >> most places most atm's and stuff outside but most stores, no. gas stations. >> reporter: investigatorsly want to you keep an eye out for the suspects the obvious cameras they ignored captured clear pictures of them with the device in hasn't. >> definitely makes you want to pay attention. but i believe drug has lot to do with it and, you know, i think that's causing a lot of the, um, crime and whatnot. >> reporter: and again, reminder police say these same two men put skimmers in other parts of bensalem as well lower merion and other townships, too. lucy. >> thank you shawnette. developing news out of nation's capitol a bombshell

white house communications direct hope hicks resign. she was one of the president's most loyal aids. she is stepping down one day after the panel investigating the russia probe interviewed her for nine hours. she told a house intelligence panel that she has occasionally told white lies for president trump. the president has issued a statement saying he'll miss sag having hicks by his side but he sure they will work together again. back here at home faculty at lehigh university want to take away president trump's honorary degree. according to allentown the morning call, more than 80% of faculty who voted want the board of trustees to resin the degree. the school awarded the president the degree in 1988. the professors say if the board does not take action they want to know how his statements align with the schools values. new accusations of assault tonight against delaware county state representative. the philadelphia inquirer is reporting two women have filed a confidential complaint against state representative nick miccarelli. the women reported claim the

so new snack coming to your sundays on fox. pizza hut is the nfl's new official pizza sponsor but the twitch from papa john's is stirring thing up tonight kristen. >> lucy there's been controversy between the nfl and their former pizza partner papa john's since november. few months ago papa john himself said the nfl hurt their sales by resolving the quote current debacle to the players and owners satisfaction. he was of course referencing the social issues on the field sta standing or kneeling for the national anthem. so the nfl and papa john's cut ties yesterday. and a day later, the nfl has found themselves a new pizza partner. pizza hut. and the news was welcomed in from pretty much everyone around the league. former nfl quarterback curt warner tweeted out "loving that pizza hut has become sponsor of nfl thinking outloud here but all former players getting free pizza and wings to watch nfl games on sunday in fall would be great first move".

philadelphia. 40s down the shore. by the afternoon into the evening 50 miles an hour winds in philadelphia. 60 down the shore. definitely creating some problems. local teen is in the fight of his life. battling an extremely rare cancer. it is so rare there's no cure, no treatment. and his sister could be next. but as our dawn timmeney reports from allentown, their community is rallying around them. no, that's not fair. >> reporter: the werner family cherishes their family time now more than ever. in february of 2016, their son bryce developed a nagging cough. doctors prescribed antibiotics but the cough didn't go away. >> it got to the point where he didn't want to eat very much. he was really tired. >> reporter: doctors discovered bryce actually had a huge tumor in his stomach. >> it was so big it was pressing on his diaphragm which was causing the coughing. >> reporter: bryce had surgery the day before his 13th birthday and shortly after that, the turners learned the teen has a rare cancer called

gastrointestinal stromal tumor or gist. it's a genetic mutation. no treatment, no cure. >> when you hear cancer as a parent right away you think, okay, we're -- this what we're going to do and then you're blind sided again when they say there's nothing that we can do. >> reporter: the only option to take the tumor house. bryce had half his stomach removed, part of inn intestines and small portion of his liver in the process. >> i was pretty much just thinking what's going to happen although and doesn't show it bryce is in pain every day, back pain, stomach pain. >> i don't digest foods really well so i have to go to the bathroom lot so that definitely affect mice live a lot, and the scans, um, and the blood work and all the routine checkups and everything. it's just been a lot. >> reporter: to make matters worse, his 15 year old sister ariana and his dad chris also have the genetic mutation to develop gist. are are under constant observation with little rhee

your bill. >> we didn't address it mr. president. >> because you're afraid of the nra. >> no, no. in all fairness -- >> the white house is expected to reveal more on the president's plans for school safety this week. in the wake of the florida school shooting two major retailers are changing things up when it comes to gun sales. dick's sporting goods says it's no longer going to sell high-powered rifles like the ar-15 and will no longer sell any firearm to anyone younger than 21. walmart says it also will not sell firearms or ammunition to anyone under the age of 21. walmart stopped selling high powered rifles like the ar-15 in 2015. do you perhaps have guns that you no longer want? well, on friday, the city of philadelphia is buying back guns you don't need id, no questions asked. our joyce evans has the details. >> i was watching tv every night, you know, i see what's happening. >> reporter: it's not all on tv and it's not just in philadelphia. last summer, yonni and his

or criminal event and someone take that gun. >> reporter: already offered up one of his businesses in camden and another one in will ming tour for future buy back. those will be happening very soon he says. joyce evans fox 29 news. police in pennsville, n, want to you take very good look at this video. they're looking for the drivers of these cars, saying earlier this month, the group pulled into a walmart, went at the back of the store, and ran out with pallets, whole bunch of them worth about $500 in total. a mystery in chester county uwchlan township. police found a woman dead at a lab that manages clinical trials before drugs hit the mark. they say they got a call just before 2:00 this afternoon had them racing to the labs. when they got they found the woman dead with a hazardous substance near her. the chester county hazmat team responded and the medical examiner is now looking into exactly how that woman died.
