welcome along to the programme. now, it was a particularly sweet night for internazionale, as they secured the serie a title in italy, and they did so against their fiercest rivals, ac milan. a 2—1win at the san siro was enough to get over the line. the equation was simple at the san siro. inter knew a win would secure the serie a title and it didn't take them long to open the scoring, francesco acerbi found himself in acres of space inside the six yard box to nod in. after the break they had a second, thuram's strike putting them in sight of the scudetto. ac milan with the home team and gave their fans a glimmer of hope when tomori pulled one back with ten minutes

remaining. tensions began to boil over in the closing stages with ac reduced to nine men, while inter also had a player sent off. the nerazzuri held on, and celebrations could begin as simone inzaghi's side become kings of italian football for the 20th time in their history. staying with european football, and the barcelona president juan laporte says he is not ruling out taking legal action or replaying el clasico, if it is discovered that yamal*s shot crossed the line in their 3—2 defeat to real madrid on sunday. with no goal—line technology available in la liga, var determined that the goalkeeper had prevented a shot from crossing the line. that was at 1—1. the visitors insist the ball had crossed the line but the goal wasn't given and real madrid went on to win the match. nottingham forest's war of words with the footballing authorities in england continues, following their premier league defeat at everton on sunday. the club posted on social media, saying they had asked for the video assistant referee

to be stood down before the game, because he is a luton fan, who are also in a relegation battle, along with forest and everton. forest now say the issue is not with any individual but more generally about the integrity of the game. the fa say they are investigating, as are the premier league, who have issued this statement. they say, "the premier league was extremely disappointed "to read the comments made by nottingham forest on social "media following its match against everton. "it is never appropriate to question the integrity "of match officials, and the nature of these "comments means the premier league will also be "investigating the matter in relation to the league's " rules. " now to a big match in the english premier league, where arsenal are hoping to move three points clear at the summit on tuesday, for 2h hours at least. mikel arteta's side are top, going into the game at london rivals, chelsea, at the emirates stadium. there are five games to go, and the spaniard says his side will give it all they've got,

as they look to end their 20 year title drought. we are in a great position in the premier league. we have been like this for nine, nine and a half months now, and we want to really give it a real go, and i'm really determined to do what is in our hands to try to lift that trophy, and tomorrow, we will have a very tough opponent in front of us and we will try to overcome that opponent again. chelsea are ninth in the premier league and could be without cole palmer, going into that match against arsenal. he is the league's joint top scorer. manager mauricio pochettino says the clubs in the transitional period, similar to where arsenal were a few years ago. the most important thing is to believe, and a course to have other strategies and to have a plan to get in this level. arsenal was a few years ago when arteta arrived

in a different situation than today then with time, confidence and trust of him after a few years, you know, he's there, like cap and with different you know, he's there, like happened with different coaches, like pep orjurgen klopp, and here it is not a different thing, it's about having trust, confidence and let us to work. the world number one scottie scheffler has his fourth win in five pga tour starts, after getting the job done on monday at the rbc heritage in south carolina. that was following a weather delayed finish. scheffler, who won the masters a week ago, after going back to back at the arnold palmer invitational and the players in march, resumed on 20—under, five clear of the chasing pack. with two parsl and a bogey on his closing holes, he completed a 3—under 68 to register a 10th pga tour victory in a little over two years. at the end of the day, like i have to get to this

position, i don'tjust show up in the lead on thursday, you have to play good golf and handle things well. you look at a tournament like this we could be a good example, starting off and looking at the leaderboard on thursday and everybody isjust making birdie after birdie, and i am sitting there over par, and had a shank on the day. ijust did my best to stay patient, waited until i got hot, add a nice finish to the round on thursday and then had a really solid friday, where i felt like i played better than i scored, and then i had saturday where ijust played some really good golf, had a lot of opportunities, made some putts, and posted a nice number. i talked a lot about the preparation, and what it takes for me to show up on a first tee, ready to go, and ifeel like i've been putting in the work and playing some good golf, and it is nice to see some results with wins. at times last year, i felt like i was playing some pretty good golf and wasn't winning, so now it's nice to be sitting here, winning some tournaments. four—time champion mark selby
2:51 am
says he's going to review his future in the summer, after being knocked out in the first round of the world snooker championship byjoe o'connor. selby was beaten by his close friend, losing ten frames to six at the crucible in sheffield. o'connor is making his debut at the championship. selby had suggested recently he might weigh up his options after also making an early exit at the tour championship. i will definitely still review in the summer, because that first session, i felt as though i stopped myself from playing as well when i had my chances, and i can't keep doing that, you know, because it is no good for me and it makes me ill and honestly gets me down, mentally, as well. so, yeah, it will be a big decision but if i do carry on playing, then i will need help obviously probably on the mental side a little bit more, just to go out there and just enjoy the game, that's all i want to do, just go out there and enjoy it. there were no issues there for the 2005 champion, shaun murphy.
2:52 am
he is into round two, after an impressive performance. murphy was 6—3 ahead after sunday's first session and today he won four of the next seven frames. 10—5, it finished. he will face scotland's stephen maguire next. the world championship is taking place at the iconic crucible, as it has done since 1977, but there have been calls to move the event to a bigger, more modern venue. hossein vafaei even called it "smelly" and "like playing "in a garage", after he exited the competition. however, many of snicko*s rates feel the tournament should remain at the historic venue. here is murphy, speaking after his earlier win. the realities are that the crucible theatre is a working theatre, most of the year. it is not a purpose—built snooker venue and that's part of its charm. we've been coming here for 47 years, and it continues to be a special place that we play snooker, year round. every young player's dream is to walk out and play here, and that continues to be the case.
2:53 am
so murphy's feelings are pretty clear, but is he a lone voice? we asked a number of players how they felt, starting with the seven time world champion, ronnie o'sullivan, who has recently become an ambassador for saudi arabian snooker. history is just being recreated every day, this will be history at some point, this interview, and this tournament must everything becomes history at some point. i think it is inevitable that in 2027, may be the landscape will have changed in the snooker world of the next three or four years, so, but i'm just lucky that i've won here. i'm sure it won't be - here in a few years' time, and nothing against - the crucible or sheffield, but as a business, . and as a tournament, some things have to, you have to grow, . you have to change.
2:54 am
wherever you take it, to a 2000 seater, 3000 seater you're never going to create the atmosphere that place creates. i know it is only 900 but it is sold out every year. 900 and there is the equivalent of 2000 somewhere else, you know? history will always be here, but people never forget it, so it can move anywhere. for me, honestly, if it stays in the crucible forever, - then i will be a happy snooker player, so it doesn't - have — to change at all, but if it does then we will have to see how it turns out, because i . think the magic that happens here over the years, will it . happen in a different venue? i don't know. world snooker have responded to the claims that the tournament could be moved, saying "the crucible is a historic "venue, and there are limitations, given the size "of the backstage areas. "we work with the crucible to make it as welcoming "as possible for the players." that is all from the world of sport. don't forget, you can get plenty more on the bbc sport website and app, but for

myself and the team, thanks for watching. we will see you next time. hello, there. we had some big weather contrasts across the uk on monday. now, for central and eastern parts of england, it was a cloudy day, with outbreaks of light and patchy rain around. it was a cold day, temperatures just seven or eight degrees, well below average for this time of the year, and, actually, these kind of temperatures are much closer to the averages you'd see in february. so, if you thought it felt a bit wintry, well, you weren't too far off the mark, but it was a different story, further north. in scotland, we did have some brighter skies and some sunshine, and we had temperatures 16 to 16.5 degrees or so in glasgow, so it was actually warmer than average here. now, the reason we've got these kind of contrasts at the moment is we do have some slightly milderair, coming in off the atlantic into generally

western areas of the uk, but this trough in the jet stream across europe is dragging in cold, northerly winds across a good part of central and eastern england. really, there's not going to be a huge amount of change in that over the next few days. for many areas, particularly in the east, the weather is going to stay on the cold side. the next few hours, we've got some clouds and patches of rain drifting southwards across england and wales, nothing too heavy, there might be a few mist patches along with that. clearing skies further north for scotland, northern ireland and northern england means it will be a bright, sunny and cold start to the day on tuesday. now, through the rest of the day, there's patchy rain slowly fizzling, as it works its way southeastwards. plenty of sunshine across the northern and western areas of the uk, and again, it's probably west scotland, through the central belt, into northern ireland and western fringes of england and wales, that will do the best for the temperatures, highs probably reaching 16 or 17, but cold for eastern scotland, central and eastern parts of england once again. now, for wednesday, probably a bit more cloud coming in off the north sea, maybe bringing
2:57 am
a few patches of rain, the winds a bit stronger, as well, so that will make its impact felt across the east coast of scotland and england. temperatures, nine degrees, but with those winds, it will feel cooler than that. again, some of the highest temperatures and some of the sunniest weather will be out west. now, heading towards the end of the week, and into the weekend, it looks like we will see something of a change, in that an area of low pressure looks set to move up from the south. so, this is going to be bringing more general outbreaks of rain. so, for those that have got quite chilly weather at the moment, we're swapping the chilly weather for wet weather, as we go into the weekend. maybe something drier and warmer next month.
